Sri Vankhandeshwar Temple, the most famous and ancient temple of Sirsaganj city, this religious place is called Barkhandi by the local community in the language of ordinary speech. The temple of Bhagwan Shiva is worshiped in Vankhandeshwar form. In the temple, Bankevihari Ji and Vankhandeshwar Swaroop Shivlingam are the most ancient Deities.
The large green courtyard of the temple makes its atmosphere even more delightful. Along with the presence of Bhagwan Shiva, there are darshan of Shri Radha Krishna and Shri Hanuman Ji Maharaj.
On the day of Kamada Ekadashi i.e. Ekadashi of Chaitra Shukla Paksha, Shobha Yatra of Shri Radha Vallabh ji is performed all over the city. On this special festival, Shri Radha Krishna is decorated in a very adorable way, after that at 7 pm, the Shobha Yatra is carried out in the whole city with bend-bowls, as well as the worship of Shri Yog Kishore Ji, the distinguished devotee of the city and Conducts kirtan. This procession is popularly known as Bhagwan Ka Dola among the common people. The grandeur of this procession can be known from this that, even after 12 hours, the journey is not completed till 8 pm.
Janmashtami is the grandest festival of the temple, under which the Srimad Bhagavad Katha is organized. After Diwali, enjoyment and bhandara of Anakoot is done on the day of Govardhan Puja.
During Chaitra and Shardiya Navadurga, Mangala Aarti is held every day at 5 o'clock, Havan and Prasad distribution at 9 o'clock and Maha Aarti in the evening. Vishal Bhandare is also organized on the conclusion of Navratri i.e. on the day of Navami. On the Asthami of every Krishna and Shukla of the month, Havan is done at 9 am and after that Prasad is distributed.
In 1991, Vyas Gaddi was constructed near the Shiva Dham located in the temple premises, as a result of which the temple got a permanent story reading accessible in all the seasons. To reach the temple, it is located on the Ahmedpur road from Kaurara road, away from the main town, and on the left before the Sirsa river.
