विवाह पंचमी भगवान श्री राम और माता सीता की शादी की सालगिरह के रूप में मनाए जाने वाले एक लोकप्रिय हिंदू त्यौहार है।

How is Vivah Panchami celebrated?

According to religious beliefs, the marriage of Bhagwan Ram and Mata Sita took place on this day. Therefore Vivah Panchami is celebrated as the marriage anniversary of Bhagwan Ram and Mata Sita. It is said that this is the same auspicious day when Tulsidas ji completed Ramcharitmanas.

❀ On the day of Vivah Panchami, perform the marriage ritual of Shri Ram and Mata Sita.
❀ Install the picture of Mata Sita and Ram Ji and garland them.
❀ If unmarried girls recite the mantra Om Janaki Vallabhay Namah 108 times, then they get a suitable groom like Ram ji.
❀ On this day, there is also a ritual to listen to the marriage story of Mata Janaki and Ram Ji.
❀ Grand events are organized in temples on this occasion. People also organize pujas at home.

Marriage is not done on the day of Vivah Panchami

In Hindu religion, the pair of Bhagwan Ram and Mata Sita is considered an ideal pair. In Indian society, married women are blessed like the couple Ram-Sita. Even today, the story of the hard work of Bhagwan Ram and Mata Sita is told to everyone. But still it is considered inauspicious to get married on their wedding date. Actually, the reason behind this is that after marriage, there were many troubles in the lives of Bhagwan Ram and Mata Sita. Both of them also spent 14 years in exile. Besides, Mata Sita also had to go through the ordeal.

According to religious texts, Bhagwn Ram abandoned pregnant Mata Sita due to social beliefs and his fair principles. After which Mata Sita spent her further life alone in the forest. He raised his children single-handedly. Seeing so many conflicts in the marital life of Ram and Sita, these people celebrate this festival but do not marry their children on this day. This is so that their children do not have to suffer as much as Bhagwan Ram and Mata Sita did.
