Amavasya is a monthly festival that comes 12 times in a year, in case of more months it can happen 13 times in a year.
According to Hindu Panchang, Amavasya is the last date of month and Krishna Paksha, this day has immense importance in Indian life. Every month is celebrated on some new festival. Among these monthly dates, some popular and important Amavasya dates are Mauni Amavasya, Shani Jayanti and Vat Savitri fast, Bhaumavati Amavasya, Kartik Amavasya i.e. Diwali, Hariyali Amavasya, Mahalaya Amavasya or Sarvpritri Amavasya. Diwali, India's most popular and twinkling festival, falls on the Amavasya of Kartik month.
Amavasya is considered in Hindu texts as an important day dedicated to fathers, that is, ancestors. On this day, donations to fathers and bathing in holy rivers are considered superior.
According to the Hindu Panchang and astronomical position, the moon completes one round of the earth in 28 days. After 15 days, the moon is at one end of the earth. When the Moon is at the other end of India, it cannot be seen. When the moon is not fully visible in India, that day is called Amavasya. And this event (Amavasya) can happen at different times according to the position of Chandra for each place or country.

Darsha Amavasya
On the day of Darsh Amavasya, the moon is not fully visible at night. Therefore, Tithi-wise Amavasya and Darsha Amavasya can be on different days. On the new moon day, the excess energy of the planets reaches humans through radiation. The most common effect of Amavasya on humans is mental illness, anger or irritability.
Somvati Amavasya
The Amavasya that falls on Monday is called Somvati Amavasya. According to the beliefs of Hindu religion, Somvati Amavasya has a special significance.

Bhauma Amavasya
Amavasya falling on a weekly Tuesday is called Bhaum Amavasya, it is also known as Bhaumvati Amavasya. Being a Tuesday, the importance of worshiping Hanumanji on Bhaum Amavasya increases even more.
Shubhwari Amavasya
Similar to Somvati Amavasya and Shani Amavasya, Amavasya that occurs on a Thursday is called Shubhavari Amavasya.
Shani Amavasya
Just as the Amavasya that falls on Monday on the first day of the week is called Somvati Amavasya, similarly the Amavasya that falls on Saturday is called Shani Amavasya.
