Pausha Maas 2025 (पौष मास 2025)

Pausha month, this Hindu month, comes after Margashirsha month, which is the 10th month according to the Hindu calendar. The month of Pausha begins with the full moon or new moon in the month of December. Shishir Ritu is called the winter month of Pausha, which is considered auspicious for various Shraddha rituals and Pinddaan. During this the Surya Bhagwan is worshiped. For those who want to do some worship this month, it will be very effective for them. Pausha month includes various festivals like Paash Amavasya, Banda Ashtami, Pausha Purnima etc. Pausha Purnima begins with the penance of Magha month and ends with Shakambhari Navratri.

Worship method of Pausha month
❀ Surya Bhagwan and Bhagwan Shiva are worshiped in the month of Pausha.
❀ Recite Aditya-Hridaya Stotra regularly.
❀ Devotees donate tur dal and rice porridge with ghee to Brahmins and needy people.
❀ Red color is considered auspicious and any new work is prohibited.
❀ People who observe the month of Pausha tie the root or wood of betel leaf in a red thread and wear it around their neck.
❀ Copper utensils are donated during this time.

Pausha MaasPuja Rituals
❀ People wake up early in the morning and offer water to Bhagwan Surya.
❀ Water is offered from a copper vessel.
❀ Arghya is offered by putting red colored flowers in the water.
❀ Mantras like 'Om Adityaya Namah' should be chanted by the worshipers of the Surya Bhagwan.
