Jaipur was founded on 18 November 1727 by Raja Jai Singh II of Amer. To get rid of the increasing population and water shortage, Raja Jaisingh shifted the capital from Amer to this new place as Jaipur. That's why the people of Jaipur celebrate Jaipur Foundation Day on 18th November.
