The road to Shri Mata Vaishno Devi cave shrine in Jammu and Kashmir has been closed due to bad weather and helicopter service to the shrine has also been suspended.
The Jammu and Kashmir administration has decided to close the new road leading to Shri Mata Vaishno Devi cave shrine due to inclement weather conditions. The pilgrimage continues safely on the old route.Helicopter service to the temple has also been suspended in Reasi district today. Meanwhile, officials said on Wednesday that traffic on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway has been suspended as several parts of the Jammu region received heavy rains overnight.
Helicopter and battery car services to the Mata Vaishno Devi shrine on the Trikuta hills in Reasi district were also suspended due to inclement weather.
Heavy rains lashed several parts of Jammu division overnight, triggering landslides at several places on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway in Ramban district, forcing the authorities to suspend traffic, officials said.
