Unique Solar Thermal Power Plant at Brahma Kumari Abu Road Rajasthan (ब्रह्माकुमारी आबू रोड राजस्थान में अनोखा सौर तापीय विद्युत संयंत्र)

With the help of the renewable energy departments of the Indian and German governments, Brahma Kumaris has managed to build an incredible asset that ensures a clean and sustainable energy supply for the Shantivan campus at Abu Road. It is also providing off-grid electricity for more than 10,000 residents of the Abu community.India One Project
In 2017 the Brahma Kumaris and the World Renewal Spiritual Trust (WRST) completed the design, development and installation of India One, a 1 MW solar thermal power plant at Abu Road, Rajasthan. This research project uses an in-house developed 60m² parabolic dish and features an innovative thermal storage for continuous operation. India One generates heat and electricity for a campus of 25,000 people as well as providing electricity from the grid for 10,000 residents of Mount Abu. This is a milestone for decentralized clean power generation with storage in India.

The Prime Minister of India Shri Narendra Modi while addressing the 80th anniversary celebrations of Brahma Kumaris through video conferencing praised the Brahma Kumaris for their contribution and encouragement. Prime Minister Modi reaffirmed India's commitment to clean energy and his desire for India to generate 40% of its energy from non-fossil fuels by 2030.
