The festival of Rangpanchami is being celebrated with joy and enthusiasm in Ujjain Shri Mahakaleshwar Temple. The festival of Rangpanchami was celebrated symbolically by offering saffron water to Baba Mahakal.
Today, on Panchami of Chaitra Krishna Paksha, during the early morning Bhasma Aarti, as soon as the doors of the temple opened at 4 o'clock, Pandey priests worshiped the idols of God installed in the sanctum sanctorum. Jalabhishek of Bhagwan Mahakal was performed and worshiped with Panchamrit made from milk, curd, ghee, sugar and fruit juice. Hari Om water was offered by ringing the first bell. Also,
the festival of Rangpanchami was celebrated symbolically by offering saffron water. After Kapoor Aarti, Baba Mahakal was made to wear a silver crown and a garland of Rudraksha and flowers. After the adornment, the Jyotirlinga of Baba Mahakal was covered with a cloth and burnt with ashes and then offered. A large number of devotees reached Bhasma Aarti and received blessings from Baba Mahakal. During this time the entire temple complex resonated with the echo of Jai Shri Mahakal.
All the devotees were allowed to enter the temple after checking so that they could not enter the temple with any kind of colour.
