In the Ram temple of Pirkho in Jammu and Kashmir, there are idols of Shri Ram Laxman with a moustache, along with Mata Sita.
This is the only temple in the whole of Jammu and Kashmir where the mustache of Ramchandra ji and Laxman is shown. These attractive marble sculptures are certainly not very big, but they are attractive. The people of Ayodhya city dancing with joy after the birth of Shri Ram, stories of exile, war scenes with demons, war scenes of monkey army etc. are still there on the walls of the temple.
In the city of temples, Jammu, the ancient Ram temple Pirkho, which has history in itself, is losing its identity in the darkness of oblivion. This historical temple has not been declared as a historical monument till date.
This temple is also known as Mooch Wale Ram Mandir and Khu Wale Ram Mandir.
Scenes from Ramayana and Mahabharata carved on the walls of the temple
On the walls of the temple, a series of scenes from the Ramayana on one side and the Mahabharata on the other side are beautifully carved. These rare artifacts also need to be protected. About 300 years old, this temple is a victim of neglect. The mural paintings on the walls have been damaged due to water dripping from the ceiling. Water is also dripping on the idols. On the request of the temple priest and the local people, ward no. 3's corporator Narottam Sharma has got the lentar of the temple installed.
Appeal to declare the temple as a historical monument
Devendra Sharma, the priest of the temple, told that there is no complete information about when the temple was built, but his 18th generation is in the service of the temple. Narottam said that now a lot of work of the temple is going to be done. She will also urge the Archaeological Archives and Museum Department to declare this temple as a historical monument and restore it properly. Money can also be spent on the temple under the smart city project.
If this temple is properly protected then it can be a center of tourist attraction. If you love this news please
