Trimbakeshwar Temple is one of the important Hindu pilgrimage centers, one of the 12 Jyotirlingas of Bhagwan Shiva and a symbol of faith of crores of people. Attempts to forcibly enter the
Trimbakeshwar temple by people of other religions have been stopped. The Brahmin Mahasabha threatened to launch a strong protest if the police failed to thoroughly investigate the shocking incident. However, alert security personnel and temple management stopped them from doing so.
The administrative officer of Shri Trimbakeshwar Devasthan Trust wrote a letter to Trimbakeshwar Police Inspector.
The administrative officer's letter states that at around 9.41 pm on May 13, some people of other religions tried to enter the temple from the northern gate near the northern gate of Shri Trimbakeshwar Temple, but were prevented from entering by the security personnel of the Maharashtra Police.
The letter also highlights that in keeping with the time-tested traditions of the temple,
only Hindus are allowed to enter the temple. The incident can create social unrest. The Administrative Officer has further requested the police to ensure legal action against the culprits and take steps to ensure that such incidents do not happen in future.
