Thousands of devotees from India, Nepal and Sri Lanka participated in the Kumbhabhishekam at Sita Amman Temple in Nuwara Eliya district of Sri Lanka. In Kumbhabhishekam, holy water brought in a pitcher (Kumbh) is sprinkled (Abhishekam) in the temple.

Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, along with India's High Commissioner to Sri Lanka, Santosh Jha, were among the top dignitaries who witnessed the consecration ceremony with the sacred Saryu water brought from Ayodhya.
