Traders from every corner of the country reach the wonderful Gardabha Mela of Kaushambi (कौशांबी का अद्भुत गर्दभ मेला देश के कोने-कोने से पहुँचते हैं व्यापारी)

The Gardabh Mela, held every year in the court of Mata Shitala in Kada, started from Monday. Traders from far and wide are coming to this two-day Mela with their goods. Traders from every corner of the country come to this ancient and wonderful Mela of Kaushambi. Donkeys are bought and sold here whose number is in lakhs. People of Dhobi community who come here also decide the relationship of their children.The two-day Mela will be held on Monday and Tuesday. Apart from Pratapgarh, Fatehpur, Kanpur, Varanasi, Rae Bareli, thousands of traders come here from Rajasthan, Bihar, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, Uttarakhand. This tradition has been going on for centuries. This Mela is held on Saptami and Ashtami of Chaitra month.
