Today, the district court of Varanasi has given a big decision regarding the Gyanvapi complex.
The court has approved the scientific survey of Gyanvapi campus. This is considered a big decision in favor of the Hindu side. The Muslim side was continuously opposing this survey.
Please inform that the Gyanvapi campus in which this issue is concerned, has a mosque on the Muslim side as well. The Kashi Vishwanath Temple is right next to the mosque. It is claimed that this mosque was built by Aurangzeb after demolishing a temple.
Know the Gyanvapi case Controversy
Regarding the Gyanvapi dispute, the Hindu side claims that below it is a self-manifested Jyotirlinga of 100 feet high Adi Vishweshwar.
The Kashi Vishwanath temple was built by Maharaja Vikramaditya about 2050 years ago, but Aurangzeb demolished the temple in the year 1664. The claim states that the mosque was built after demolishing the temple on the land which is now known as Gyanvapi Masjid.
The petitioners have demanded that a scientific survey of the Gyanvapi complex should be conducted to ascertain whether the subterranean part is the remains of the temple or not. Along with breaking the floor of the disputed structure, it should also be ascertained whether the 100 feet high Jyotirlinga Swayambhu Vishweshwarnath is also present there or not. The walls of the mosque should also be examined to find out whether they belong to the temple or not.
