Tamil Hanuman Jayanti is being celebrated today i.e.
11th January 2024, Hanuman Jayanti has great significance in Hindu religion and this day is celebrated as one of the major festivals.
It is celebrated on Moolam Nakshathram in the month of Margazhi as per Tamil calendar.In Tamil Nadu,
Hanumatha Jayanti is celebrated during Margashirsha Amavasya. Most of the time Margashirsha Amavasya and Moola Nakshatra come together. It is believed that Bhagwan Hanuman was born on Margashirsha Amavasya in Moola Nakshatra. In the years when there is no Moola Nakshatra on the day of Amavasya, the day of Amavasya itself is celebrated as Hanumatha Jayanti. Tamil Hanumatha Jayanti falls in the month of January or December as per the Gregorian calendar.
This day is also celebrated as Anjaneyar Jayanti. In North India,
Hanuman Jayanti is celebrated on the full moon day during the month of Chaitra.
