The golden form of Adi Shakti Maha Durga is blissful for the devotees. Devotees saw the golden form of Maa Kushmanda seated in Durgakund. Devotees get to see the golden form of Mata only for six days in a year and this is the first time when devotees will get to see the golden form of Mata for seven days. Before this, the golden form of Maa Durga could be seen only for six days.
On the first day of the festival, in the evening, the golden idol of the mata was first bathed in Panchamrit and Panchagavya, after which the Goddess was decorated with tuberose, rose and lotus flowers specially brought from Kolkata.
Mata was adorned with a hibiscus shaped necklace, Ramnami necklace and Sitaram necklace. Along with this, Mother's form was decorated with earrings, Maangtika and Nathiya. Mahant Rajnath Dubey of the temple told that the Ramnami necklace of Mata has been used in adorning the Mata since ancient times. A huge aarti of the mother was performed.
Specially made halwa and ghughri were offered to Maa Kushmanda as part of the bhog. A tableau of Chhappan Bhog was also decorated. Shringaar Mahotsav started with the invocation of the four Vedas by the Vedic Acharyas of Kashi.
