The oldest Gauri-Shankar temple of Vaishali dedicated to Bhagwan Shiva and mata Adishakti is known as the Prachin Shri Shiva Shakti Temple. To which the local people address the name of Sector-2 Shiva temple in the language of ordinary speech.
Bhagwat Katha is organized every year in the temple courtyard. Devotees sing and recite Bhajan-Kirtan on Tuesday, Thursday and evening of both Ekadashi of the month. The annual festival is organized by Kirtan and Bhandare around Guru Purnima.
During both Navratri festival of Chaitra and Shardiya, Kirtan is held daily from 4:30 to 6:30 pm, followed by Vishal Bhandara on Navami. A large bhandara and bhajan-kirtan is held on the occasion of Hanuman Jayanti along with the enjoyment of laddoos of paav-mani (50 kg).
The annual festival of establishment of Shani Maharaj is celebrated on Shani Jayanti, under which Bhandara, Shani Abhishek and Bhajan-Kirtan are organized. In the temple, Rudrabhishek of Shivaling is performed on every day of the holy month of Bhagwan Shiva, Sawan.
On the occasion of Shri Krishna Janmashtami, the temple offers huge Bhajan Sandhya, Abhishek of Thakurji, Jhulan of Laddugopal ji and various types of tableau and offerings are distributed. After this, on the sixth of Shri Krishna ji, there is a process of worshiping with hard rice and bhandare. Kheer is offered as Bhog and Prasad with Kirtan in the evening of Shri Radhashtami.
The temple's chief Mahant Shri Amit Ballabh Shastri (98188 25738) ji has the facility to worship and offer ancestors during Pitra Paksha.
Under Kartik month, Poojan, Prabhat Pheri, Tulsi Pujan and Kartik Mahima Katha runs every day for a month after bathing at 4 am. Prabhat Pheri, Havan Pujan is held after that on the day of its completion i.e. Dev Diwali festival as a complete sacrifice of Kartik bath.
Govardhan Pooja: Establishment of Govardhan Maharaj from the goverment of Gaumata and offer food to him, and distribute it to Prasad in the form of prasad. The annual foundation day of Baba Balaknath is celebrated in the month of April.
This Gauri-Shankar temple will be 300 meters away from the most famous Mahagun Metro Mall in Vaishali. Both Vaishali and Kaushambi metro stations are convenient to reach the temple, and also at almost the same distance.
