Sri Raja Rajeswara Temple is one of the most famous Hindu temples located in the city of Vemulawada in Telangana, India. Shri Raj Rajeshwar Temple is dedicated to Bhagwan Shiva. History and Architecture of Sri Raj Rajeswara Swami Temple
Historically the area was the capital of the Vemulavada Chalukyas who ruled from 750 to 973 AD. The presiding deity of the temple is Sri Raj Rajeswara Swami and is adorned with the idol of Raj Rajeshwari Devi on his right side and Siddi Vinayak along with Lakshmi on the left side.
Several shrines within the temple complex known as Upalaya are dedicated to various deities, including Anantha Padmanabha Swami, Ram with Sita and Lakshman, Anjaneya Swami and other shrines.
A dargah within the temple complex stands as ample testimony to religious tolerance. The Bhavishya Purana mentions that the Surya Bhagwan was cured of disability by praying in the temple here and hence this temple is called Bhaskara Kshetram.

The temple remains open throughout the week. Darshan timings are from 4:30 am to 10:30 pm.
Major Festivals in Sri Raj Rajeswara Swami Temple
Every year at the time of Maha Shivaratri, devotees visit Vemulawada to worship Shiva. An offering called 'Kode Mokku' is also made by the devotees in this temple, it is a ritual where the devotees circumambulate the temple with a kode (bull) which is the Vahanam (Nandi) of Bhagwan Shiva. There is a huge Shiva Lingam inside. Before proceeding for darshan inside the Raja Rajeshwar Temple there is a bathing tank called Dharma Gundam; It is believed to be holy water and has medicinal properties. Taking a bath in this Dharma Gundam cures many diseases.
