Naya Hanuman Mandir is located in Lucknow Aliganj. This temple of Hanuman ji is a very wonderful and miraculous temple. It is said that, when the temple was being constructed, Hanuman ji had appeared in physical form to the Mahant here. Since then this temple is also considered as Siddha Peeth. This temple of Hanuman ji situated in Lucknow is said to be quite old. In this temple of Hanuman ji, Hanuman ji's face is towards north. It is said that this temple was built in the year 1783. And here Hanuman ji resides in his true form.
The history of the temple is linked to the Ramayana period. According to a legend, when Lord Shri Ram, Sita and Lakshman returned to Ayodhya after conquering Lanka. After that the people of Ayodhya made false allegations against Mata Sita. Concerned about this, Lord Shri Ram ordered Lakshman to leave Sita in the forest. After this, when Lakshman was going to leave Mata Sita for exile, it became evening on the way. Lakshman had gone to Lakshman Tila at that time, while Hanuman was present at this place to protect Mata Sita. Since then this place came to be known as Siddhapeeth.
Nawab Wajid Ali Shah of Awadh was also so impressed by the glory of this Siddha Peeth of Hanuman ji, that he himself used to come here to have darshan of Hanuman ji, and also brought his wife and organized Bhandara here. Nawab Wajid Ali Shah had also beautified this temple and installed a moon on top of this temple which is still present on the top of this temple. Naya Hanuman Mandir Darshan Timings
This temple of Lord Hanuman ji opens every day at 5:00 am and at 12:00 pm the doors of this temple close at the time of rest, and again at 4:00 pm this temple opens, and at 10:00 pm: The doors of this temple close at 00 o'clock and Aarti takes place in this temple twice a day. Aarti takes place at 9:00 in the morning and Aarti takes place at 9:00 in the night.
Major festivals of Naya Hanuman Mandir
Major Hindu festivals like Hanuman Jayanti, Ram Navami, Navratri and Diwali are celebrated with great pomp in the temple. Special pujas, bhajans and religious discourses are organized on these occasions. Especially on Tuesdays and Saturdays, devotees from all parts of Lucknow come to visit.
Bada Mangal
The Bada Mangal mela, which starts every year on the first Tuesday of the month of Jyeshtha, is a unique festival in itself. Devotees come to this mela from far and wide. There is a very big Bhandara here on Bada Mangal. A big mela is also organized on big festivals.
