Naulakha Temple is one of the most famous religious and historical places of Deoghar in the city of Baba Vaidyanath with its unique combination of beauty and architecture.
Everyone must have heard about the Naulakha necklace, but there is an interesting history behind how the temple got its name. Dedicated to the child form of Bhagwan Shri Krishna, this temple was built at a cost of nine lakh rupees, hence this temple became famous among the public as Naulakha Temple.
Bhagwan Shri Krishna is seated in the form of Deity in the temple, as well as an idol of Saint Balanand Brahmachari ji is also installed. Hence the actual name of the temple is Jugal Mandir dedicated to the form of Guru and Govind.
The height of Naulakha temple is 146 feet. The temple is located just 2 km away from Deoghar city of Jharkhand and is highly famous among both devotees and tourists for its architectural beauty. The architecture of the temple seems to be inspired by the Belur Math, the headquarters of the Ramakrishna Mission in Kolkata.
