Moti Dungri Ganesh Ji Temple is located at Moti Dungri Hill Top, Moti Dungri Palace, Jaipur, Rajasthan. This temple is dedicated to Bhagwan Ganesh and the idol is covered with vermillion. Every year at least 1.25 lakh devotees visit Bhagwan Ganesh.
History and Architecture of Moti Dungri Ganesh Ji Temple
Moti Dungri Ganesh Temple was built in 1761 AD by Seth Jai Ram Paliwal. This temple dedicated to Bhagwan Ganesh has three domes, the idol of Bhagwan Ganesh is in a sitting posture and the trunk is on the left side which is considered very important and auspicious. The idol of Bhagwan Ganesh installed in the temple is said to be more than five hundred years old. The architecture of this Hindu temple is unique.
There are three temples here, Bhagwan Ganesh, Veer Hanuman and Shri Shiv Temple. The idol of Bhagwan Ganesh in the main temple is covered with a vermillion paste called Chola. This Chola is changed on special festivals and occasions, at that time Bhagwan Ganesh also takes a milk bath.
A huge idol of Mushika, the Vahan of Bhagwan Ganesh, is also placed in front of the Ganesh idol. The temple is carved out of stone and has a beautiful design that includes mythological images that are printed on the marble. The Moti Dungri Fort complex has a Lingam (symbol of Bhagwan Shiva), which is open to visitors once a year on Mahashivaratri. Birla Mandir Temple dedicated to Lakshmi Narayan is situated to the south of the Ganesh temple.

The temple is open throughout the week and darshan timings are 5:00 am to 1:30 pm and 4:30 pm to 9:00 pm.
Major festivals in Moti Dungri Ganesh Ji Temple
The major festivals of Moti Dungri Ganesh Temple are Ganesh Chaturthi, Annakoot, Janmashtami and Paush Bada. A fair is organized every Wednesday in the temple premises. At Moti Dungri Ganesh Temple, thousands of devotees stand in queue chanting 'Ganpati Bappa Moriya', 'Jai Shri Ganesh' and offer Modak and show their greatest enthusiasm on Ganesh Chaturthi. Moong dal ladoos are offered in the biggest festival of Paush Bada.

This temple is very well connected to Jaipur city. Devotees can reach this place both by road and railway. Gandhi Nagar Jaipur Railway Station is the nearest and Jaipur International Airport is the nearest airport.
