Mata Mansa Devi Temple is located in Panchkula district in the state of Haryana, India. Mata Mansa is dedicated to Devi Mata Mansa, a form of Shakti. Every year thousands of devotees visit the temple from different parts of the country. Especially during the Navratri fair, this number increases to lakhs every day for nine auspicious days.
History and Architecture of Mata Mansa Devi Temple
Mansa Devi is mainly worshiped for protection from the dangers of snakebite. Mata Mansa Devi Temple in Panchkula is one of the major Shaktipeeth temples of North India, consisting of 7 Shakti Devi, namely Mata Mansa Devi, Naina Devi, Jwalamukhi, Chintpurni, Brajeshwari, Chamunda Devi and Jayanti Devi.
The temple complex is spread over 100 acres in the Shivalik foothills in Bilaspur village near Sector 13, Chandigarh and 10 km from Chandi Mandir, Panchkula. There are 3 temples in the complex and the main temple is the oldest. Maharaja Gopal Das Singh of Mani Majra, who ascended the throne in 1783, built the present main temple of Shri Mansa Devi during the period 1811–1815, which is situated on the Shivalik foothills in the village Bilaspur, tehsil and district Panchkula. At a distance of 200 meters from the main temple is the Patiala Shivalaya Temple, which was constructed in the year 1840 by Karam Singh, a Jat Sikh, the then Maharaja of Patiala. This temple had the patronage of Manimajra princely state.
Mata Mansa Devi Temple Darshan Timings
The temple remains open throughout the week and darshan timings are from 5 am to 9 pm. During Navratri the temple is open for darshan from 5 am to 10 pm.
Famous Festivals of Mata Mansa Devi Temple
Navratri festival is celebrated for nine days in the temple. Lakhs of devotees visit the temple twice a year. Shardiya Navratri fair is organized in the temple premises during the months of Chaitra and Ashwin. Every year two Navratri fairs are organized by the Shrine Board in the month of Ashwin and the other in the month of Chaitra, Vasant Navratri. This fair lasts for nine days every time and ends on the ninth day.

Mata Mansa Devi Temple is located at a distance of about 10 km from Chandigarh Bus Terminal and 4 km from Panchkula Bus Terminal, Mansa Devi Temple can be reached by local buses. Chandigarh is the nearest railway station for those heading towards Mata Mansa Devi. It is situated on the Chandigarh-Kalka railway line.
