Khodaldham is a Hindu temple complex dedicated to Mata Khodal, the patron goddess of the Leuva Patel community, located in Kagwad, Rajkot district of Gujarat, India. Mata Khodal also known as Khodiyar is considered to be an incarnation of Goddess Durga or her form Mahakali. The temple was built by Shri Khodaldham Trust, an organization of the Leuva Patel community of Rajkot. Shri Khodladham Temple is the first temple in the world to have the national flag flying at its entrance.
Khodaldham History and Architecture
Shri Khodaldham Temple is one of the largest comprehensive Hindu temples, measuring 298 feet, 7 inches in length, 252 feet, 5 inches and height of 159 feet, 1 inches, covering a vast area. This grand temple has a stunning idol of Maa Khodal in the sanctum sanctorum, the other twenty deities installed in the temple include Ganesha, Hanuman, Ram-Sita, Radha-Krishna along with other deities like Amba, Annapurna, Ashapura, Bahuchar, Butbhavani. , Brahmani, Chamunda, Gatral, Jail, Harsiddhi, Mahakali, Momai Nagabai, Randal, Sihori and Verai.
The statue of Dhartiputra Patel has been installed in the Patel panel in the temple area. Shri Khodaldham is the only temple in the world in which artistic Patel panels have been installed. The temple complex was constructed in three phases over an area of 158 bighas and at a cost of ₹250 crore.
This temple is built in Mahameru Prasad design of Maru-Gurjara architecture. It is 289 feet 7 inches long, 253 feet wide and 159 feet 1 inch high. To respect its supremacy, the height of the temple has been kept 10 feet less than the Somnath temple. The primary platform (Jagti) of the temple is 18 feet high and the secondary platform is 6 feet 5 inches high. The Kalash at the top of the temple is covered with gold and is 14 feet high and weighs 6 tonnes. The flag mast is 40 feet high. About 650 statues adorning the exterior of the temple have been carved by artisans from Odisha. Unique architectural work has been done on the walls of the temple. There is a design of the story of Mahabharata on the wall of the temple. About 230000 cubic feet of Bansi Paharpur pink stone has been used in the construction.
Khodaldham darshan time
Khodaldham is open throughout the week and darshan timings are from 5:30 am to 9:30 pm. The timing of morning aarti is 6 am and evening aarti is performed at 6:30 pm.

Khodaldham Temple is only 4 km away from the National Highway. The nearest railway stations are Veerpur and Jetpur. The nearest airport to Khodaldham Temple is Hirasar Airport - Rajkot (95 km). Khodaldham Temple can be reached by road or rail from Hirasar Airport – Rajkot.
