The ancient Kankali Mata Temple of Maa Kali under Sasni town on Aligarh Road is a major center of faith of the devotees of Mata. Based on the stories of Jan Shrution and the priest of the temple, it was known that this temple was established by shepherds. The forefathers of temple priest Pandit Charan Singh Baba used to tell that shepherds from Rajasthan used to come here every year with cattle and used to camp here.
One day suddenly while cleaning and leveling the ground, the devi appeared here in the form of Pindi. Those whom their ancestors started worshiping by keeping them under the tree. There are two concepts behind the skeleton in the name of the temple,
According to the first opinion, Kankali Mata is the family goddess of shepherds, hence it was called by the name of Makali Mata.
According to the second opinion, some people believe that the name Kankali Devi was named because of the pebble-like markings on the temple.
Hundreds of small-big-very-big bells are hanging in the sanctum sanctorum of Maa Kankali temple and outside it, the melodious echoes of these bells make the atmosphere even more divine. The original form of mother in the sanctum sanctorum is the Pindi form only, often the mother's crown or idol of the mother is seen installed on the Pindi.
Every Monday, there is a fair-like atmosphere around the temple and the enthusiasm of the devotees is to be asked, their enthusiasm is on the seventh sky.
