Jagdamba Sthan, Narauli, Karauta Temple is a very famous temple in Bihar, it is one of the most popular historical symbols in Bihar. It is said about Maa Jagdamba temple located in Narauli of Bakhtiyarpur block of Patna district that any devotee who comes here with his wish, gets his wish fulfilled. There is a crowd of childless couples here especially. Women believe that seeing their devi fills their empty lap.
History of Jagdamba Temple
This temple has a black stone statue of Maa Jagdamba which appears to have emerged from a Peepal tree. It is said that this statue is thousands of years old. There was once a temple here. It was demolished by Bakhtiyar Khilji during the Nalanda victory campaign.
At present many other temples have also been built in the temple complex. Along with the statues of Bhagwan Vishnu and Lakshmi installed in the pond, there are separate temples of Prabhu Surya, Hanuman and Bholenath. Besides, a grand Dharamshala has also been constructed with the help of devotees.
Jagdamba Temple Darshan Timings
The temple opens for the entire week. Devotees get darshan from 6:30 am to 6:30 pm.
Major festivals in Jagdamba Temple
Devotees come to Jagadamba Temple for darshan and worship throughout the year, but the crowd increases significantly during Navratri. A fair like scene is seen here on Tuesdays and Saturdays. A large crowd of devotees gather for worship. During Navratri the entire temple echoes with devotional songs.
Extensive arrangements have been made in the temple premises for the worship of the devotees. Here there is a provision for male and female devotees to stand in separate queues and offer prayers. Devotees believe that wishes are fulfilled just by visiting this temple.
How to reach Jagdamba Temple
Jagdamba Temple, this temple is one km south of Karauta station of Bakhtiyarpur and south of Narauli village adjacent to Bakhtiyarpur four lane. It is situated at a distance of about forty km from Patna. There are auto and bus arrangements to reach the temple.
