There are two entrances to the temple, the north entrance is through Moksha Dwar and the south entrance is through the main heaven, this gate leads to the Gomti river through the main market. The temple remains open from 6:00 AM to 1:00 PM in the morning and 5:00 PM to 9.30 PM in the evening. According to Adi Guru Shankaracharya, Dwarka has been named as Sharda Math. The adjective Tirtha or Ashram is placed behind the name of the Sanyasis who receive initiation under Sharda Math. The Mahavakya of this Math is Tattvamasi and the Veda that comes under it is Samaveda. The First Mathadhish of Sharda Math was Hastamalak ji (Prithvidhar).
