One can find a big terracotta Bengali style architecture called Chittaranjan Park Kali Mandir while traveling between Nehru Place and Kailash Colony metro station.
Touching the boundary of the temple from Chittaranjan Park roadside, devotee have to climb a first high stairs. It shows that in past, Maa Kali temple premises was situated on the hill. A beautiful garden is full of yellow, red and violet color flowers with a large green area.
The temples themselves open on the other side. Built on a small hill, it started as a Shiv temple in 1973, which still stands within the complex, the larger shrines dedicated to goddess Kali, Shiv, and Radha Krishna were added in 1984. Over the years it has remained an important centre of the convergence of local Bengali community during annual Durga Puja festivities. Chittaranjan Park Kali Mandir Society Manages this temple, it organizes a number of cultural and religious events throughout the year.
It is not just a religious place but also a center for social and cultural activities for Bengalis all over Delhi. The Mandir also houses a large library with books on various aspects of Bengali culture and runs Bengali language classes for those wishing to learn Bangla.
