श्री भीमाकाली मंदिर (Shri Bhimakali Temple) is amongst the main pilgrimage place for Hindus. It is situated in sarahan in himachal Pradesh at a height of 2400 metre from sea level and amidst the high altitude snow clad peaks of Himalaya in the back drop of temple.

Srikhand Mahadev (Shiv) snow peak is one of the highest peak here which is being trekked at height of 5500 metres. this magnificent temple is about 180 kms. from Shimla on NH-5 Dedicated to Godesses Bhimakali, this temple was believed to be constructed around 800 years ago and this is famous and known for its unique fusion design architecture of hindu-Buddhism cultures. Its completely made of wood carvings. Now this old temple is almost closed for public and only opened during morning and evening Aarti only.
A new temple was constructed in 1943 under the old temple complex. In this new temple, the statues of Bhimakali devi was depicted and established in two symbols. One is of Virgin girl and other is of a women. In the temple complex, There are two more temples present dedicated to Raghunath and Narsingh incarnation of Bhairon. Bhimakali temple is considered to be one of the most important Shaktipeeth and holy place. According to religious beliefs, The left ear of the Devi Sati (Wife of lord Shiva) was being dropped at this place. Acording to another belief, Devi Bhimakali was first seen here as a wooden statue of Great Hindu Rishi Brahmgiri. The famous hindu festival Dusshera is being celebrated here very cordially every year.

Shrikhand Mahadev, one of the toughest pilgrimages in India, is known for Lord Shiva in Hindu Mythology. Lord Shiva slaughtered the Bhasmasur hereThis snow peak at 17000 feet height is just in front of your eyes from the bhimakali temple. But to reach to this peak, the only way is to trek for 10 days. The trekking is organized by Himachal government in the month of june and July.
