Bhadrakali Mandir of Kurukshetra is dedicated to Mata Kali. Located on Jhansa Road in Kurukshetra, Haryana. This Shaktipeeth is one of the 52 Shaktipeeths of the country. Bhadrakali Shakti Peeth is also famous by the name of Savatri Peeth. This historical Mandir is the only Siddha Shaktipeeth in Haryana, where Mata Bhadrakali is present in the form of Shakti.
History and Architecture of Bhadrakali Mandir Kurukshetra
Here the beautiful statue of Mata Bhadrakali is seated in a calm posture. Every day thousands of devotees worship and darshan Mata Bhadrakali. There is a Devi pond outside the Mandir. There is Taksheshwar Mahadev Mandir at one end of the pond.
The idol of Mata Kali is installed in the Bhadrakali Mandir and as soon as you enter the Mandir, a big lotus flower has been made, in which the ankle of the right foot of Mata Sati is installed which is made of white marble. Located on the ancient banks of river Saraswati, deposits of many archaeological cultures have been found near this pilgrimage, which proves the antiquity of this pilgrimage.
According to mythological beliefs, the ankle (part below the knee) of the right leg of Mata Sati had fallen in Bhadrakali Shaktipeeth. Its importance increases further when the mention of Shri Krishna is included in it. It is said that Shri Krishna and Balram were tonsured in Bhadrakali Shaktipeeth itself. This practice continues even today. Even today, many devotees from many parts of the country perform the Mundan Sanskar of their children on this holy place.
It is also believed that during the Mahabharata period, Shri Krishna came to this Mandir with the Pandavas. He had prayed for victory to Mata Bhadrakali. After winning the war, Pandavas came to the Mandir and donated horses, since then this tradition of donating horses has been going on.

Major festivals of Bhadrakali Mandir Kurukshetra
Visiting Shaktipeeths has special significance during Navratri. Every year during the Navratri of Chaitra and Ashwin, a fair is organized in the Mandir in which devotees from Haryana and many other parts of the country come to worship Mata Bhadrakali and partake of the virtues. On the day of Rakshabandhan, devotees hand over the responsibility of their safety to Mata and tie Raksha Sutra. It is believed that this protects them.

Bhadrakali Mandir is located on Jhansa Road in Thanesar city of Kurukshetra district. This place is very well connected to other cities by road. Kurukshetra Junction in Kurukshetra is the nearest railway station, which is about 3 km from the Mandir and Chandigarh Airport is about 92 km from the Mandir.
