Maa Brahmani Temple is the biggest center of faith of Etawah, Firozabad, Agra, Bhind, Gwalior, Mainpuri, Auraiya district and other surrounding area. This Siddhpeeth Maa Brahmani Devi Temple, this place / temple / area itself is famous by the name Barmani. The temple's garbhagriha was built by Adi Shilpi Vishwakarma ji with the installation of Dwadash / 12 gates and nine planets with a Bisa Yantra. Nine wells are also located around the temple area.
It is believed that this temple situated amidst the ravines of Jaswantnagar on the banks of river Yamuna, commemorates the ancient Shakti Puja. There are various views regarding the establishment of the temple.
According to the prevailing story: Maharaja Bhadawar had brought Mata Brahmani from Myanmar / Burma country on one condition. The condition was that in the place you looked back, you will stop at the same place and you heard a voice coming to the king, then when the king looked back, the idol of the mata took a huge form, and according to the condition the temple was built by Maharaja Bhadavar. The temple was founded around 1500 by the king of Bhadavar. Even today, the royal family of Bhadavar region considers mata as its Kuldevi, and comes to offer prayers from time to time.
According to the Hindu calendar, a huge fair is held three times a year in the months of Chaitra, Ashadh, and Ashwin / Quar with joy and peace at the temple. Mainly Chaitra Navratri attracts more crowds here. Millions of devotees come to visit the mata in the fair. Thousands of flag / nejas are offered by the grace of Maa Brahma. The police administration also monitors the entire fair with the help of CC TV cameras and additional security force to protect the fair.
At present, the temple of Bhagwan Shiva and Shree Hanumant Lal is also established along with the temple courtyard. Devotees worship the mata in various ways to please devi. Sometimes by rolling, and sometimes by walking kilometers away devotees try to please the Devi.
