Anjanadri hill is located in Hampi in Koppal district of Karnataka, close to Anegundi across the Tungabhadra River. This hill is considered to be the birthplace of Bhagwan Hanuman. Bhagwan Hanuman, born of Devi Anjana, was also called Anjaneya and hence this hill is called Anjanadri Hills, which is considered to be his birthplace.
History and Architecture of Anjanadri Hills Hampi
The temple at Anjanadri Hills has a rock carved idol of Bhagwan Hanuman. There are also temples of Bhagwan Ram and Mata Sita and a Mata Anjana temple nearby. It is a sacred pilgrimage site for Hindus. This temple is a white painted structure. The roof has a pyramidal structure with a small red dome on top. A red flag flutters in the wind and is easily visible from a distance.
Anjanadri Hill offers breathtaking landscapes, stunning sunset views and beautiful views of the Tungabhadra River flowing between the mountains and rocks. According to mythology, this place is known as Kishkindha and people who believe in Hanuman come here. There are about 575 steps and it takes about 45 minutes to climb the hill.

How to reach Hampi’s Anjanadri Hills?
Anjanadri Hills The best way to reach Hampi is by road. Anjanadri Hills is located in Koppal district and has no airport. You can reach the hills by crossing the Tungabhadra river from Hampi side via coracle boat. These boats are easily available. Koppal being the district headquarters, it still takes about an hour to reach from the city centre. To reach the hills you can consider state run public transport buses or your own vehicles.
