According to the Hindu calendar, Mahesh Navami is celebrated every year on the Navami of Shukla Paksha of Jyeshtha month. This festival is mainly dedicated to the worship of Mahadev and Devi Parvati.

Traditional belief of Mahesh Navami
Mahesh Navami is the biggest festival of Maheshwari society. According to traditional belief, Maheshwari dynasty was born on Jyeshtha Shukla Navami of Yudhishthir Samvat 9. It is the most important day for the people of this community where many cultural programs and rallies are organized to create unity and respect among all. The main objective is to spread the message of service, sacrifice and righteousness.

According to the Panchang, Navami Tithi will start at 12:03 AM on Saturday, June 15, 2024 and end at 02:32 AM on June 16. Devotees can worship Bhagwan Mahadev in the morning and evening.

Mahesh Navami Puja Vidhi

❀ On the day of Mahesh Navami, start the day by remembering Bhagwan Shiva in Brahma Muhurta.
❀ Take a bath with pure Ganges water and purify yourself by doing achamana. After this wear new clothes.
❀ First of all, offer water to Bhagwan Surya, worship Bhagwan Shiva and Mother Parvati with fruits, flowers, incense, lamp, Akshat, hemp, Dhatura, milk, curd and Panchamrit.
❀ Be sure to recite Shiv Chalisa and chant mantras.
❀ At the end, perform Aarti and pray for happiness, prosperity and increase in wealth.
❀ Perform aarti in the evening and eat fruits.
❀ Break the fast the next day after completing the puja.

Importance of Mahesh Navami

On the day of Mahesh Navami, special worship is done in temples and Shiva temples. A large number of devotees come to the temple to have darshan of Baba. On this occasion, cultural and religious workers are organized by Maheshwari Samaj.
