Budhwa Mangal Utsav is dedicated to the old age form of Hanuman ji. The festival is held on the last Tuesday of the month of Bhadrapada / Bhadoon, which is also known as Budhe Mangal in popular language. This festival is celebrated with great pomp in the 300-year-old Hanuman Bari complex in Nagla Khushali.

Budhwa Mangal is celebrated more prominently in North India rather than in South India. But, somewhere in North India like Kanpur Varanasi and Lucknow city, this festival is celebrated on Tuesday of Jyestha month, also called Budha Mangal.

बुढ़वा मंगल उत्सव हनुमान जी के वृद्ध रूप को समर्पित है। यह उत्सव भाद्रपद माह के अंतिम मंगलवार को आयोजित किया जाता है, जिसे प्रचलित भाषा में बूढ़े मंगल के नाम से भी जाना जाता है।

History of Budhwa

First Opinion:
During Mahabharat period, Bhima became very proud because of his huge power. Just to break Bhima`s pride, Rudra avatar Prabhu Hanuman disguised himself as an old monkey and destroy Bhima`s pride. Later this day, worshiped as Budhwa Mangal.

Second Opinion:
According to another opinion, on the last Tuesday of the month of Bhadrapada in the Ramayana period, Ravan set fire to Prabhu Hanuman Ji`s tail who is in search of Mata Sita. Hanuman ji through his Virat Swarup burnt Lanka and crushed Ravan`s pride.

❀ Wake up in the morning, take a bath and wear red clothes.
❀ Meditate on Bhagwan Hanuman and take a pledge to fast.
❀ Place the idol or picture of Hanuman ji on the post in the north-east corner of the house.
❀ You can also worship by going to Hanuman temple.
❀ Offer orange vermillion to Hanumanji.
❀ Now offer red flowers and red fruits to Hanuman ji.
❀ In the end, do recite Hanuman ji's aarti and Hanuman Chalisa.

It is believed that by worshiping Hanuman ji with true devotion on this day, one gets the special blessings of Bajrangbali. By worshiping the Buddha form of Hanumanji, Bajrangbali removes all the sorrows of his devotees.
