Why Do People Stay Ujagar in Mahashivratri? (महाशिवरात्रि में क्यों उजागर रहते हैं लोग?)

Why Do People Stay Ujagar in Mahashivratri?
Maha Shivratri is primarily a Hindu festival, celebrated annually in honor of Bhagwan Shiva. Maha Shivaratri, literally means the great night of Shiva and according to legend, on this night Bhagwan Shiva performs his heavenly dance which we call Tandava. It is a major festival in Hinduism, and the festival commemorates the Overcoming of Darkness and Ignorance in the world.
Scientific Reason Behind Awakening in Mahashivratri:
There is a festival for every situation in India, but Mahashivratri has a different significance. The fourteenth day of each lunar month or the day before the new moon is known as Shivaratri. On this night, the northern hemisphere of the planet is positioned in such a way that there is a natural surge of energy in humans. It is a day when nature is pushing one towards his spiritual peak. To allow this natural surge of energy to find its way, one of the core tenets of this night-long celebration is to make sure you stay awake throughout the night with your spine down. This night is not just a night of awakening, this night is a night of awakening for you.

Significance of Mahashivratri:
Mahashivratri has special significance for those who follow the spiritual path. People living in family circumstances celebrate Mahashivratri as the wedding anniversary of Shiva. People with worldly ambitions see this day as the day on which Shiva conquered all the enemies.

Our holy Vedas and Puranas have addressed Shiva as Bhagwan, who can be easily appeased by the name of Ashutosh. Bhagwan Shiva is said to be the god of death and time. He is the supreme figure in Shaivism, one of the major traditions within Hinduism.
