Narak Chaturdashi Katha: From Isha Foundation (नरक चतुर्दशी कथा: ईशा फाउंडेशन की ओर से)

Diwali is also known as Narak Chaturdashi as Narak requested that his death anniversary should be celebrated. Numerous people realize their limitations only at the moment ofdeath. However, life can be made better, If they realize it now. But utmost people stay till the last nanosecond. Narak is one of them. At the time of his death, he suddenly realized how he'd ruined his life and what he was doing with it. Thus, he requested Krishna," Moment you aren't only killing me, but all the wrongdoings I've done."That is why you shouldn't celebrate the bloodbath of the sins of Narak, you should celebrate the bloodbath of all the vices within you. That is when the real Diwali happens.
Legend says that Naraka was the son of Vishnu. But this happed when Vishnu took the form of a wild boar, so he'd some tendencies.

Why did Krishna kill Narakasura?

Narak was killed because Krishna saw that if you let him live, he'd continue like that. But if you bring him closer to death, he's able of realizing. Suddenly he realized that he'd unnecessarily collected too important dirty stuff. So he said,"You are not killing me, you are taking all my bad stuff. It's a good thing you are doing to me. Everyone should know this." So all of them should celebrate the death of all the negativity I've collected because this has brought new light to me and it should bring light to all. So it came a jubilee of lights. There's light in the whole country on this day, so you should burn all your things. It's good to do now. To Narak, Krishna told him"I'm going to kill you."But for you no bone can tell you-it just could be.

Why is the death of Narakasura celebrated as Diwali?
We're all made of the same stuff but look at how different everyone has come. The question is just, what are you collecting every day? Are you collecting bane within yourself or will you produce the scent of the godly within you? This is the election. This legend about Narak being born good but being evil is significant. Realized Narak at the time of death, the only difference between Krishna and him is what each has created by himself. Krishna made himself holy, while Naraka made himself a demon. Each of us has thisoption. However, also what's the use of those who have set themselves shining exemplifications? It isn't because someone is lucky or they were born that way, If we had no choice. It takes a lot of kneading and breaking to make yourself in a particular way.

Either you stay for life to scourge you up or you shape yourself-that is the choice. Narak chose that Krishna should come and whip him. Krishna chose to shape himself. That's a big difference. One is worshiped as a deity, the other is put down as a demon-that is all. Either you beat yourself into shape or life will one day beat you to shape-or out of shape, whatever. Diwali reminds of this. Let's light it up.
