Thiruvalluvar was a Tamil poet and philosopher who lived in the 1st century CE. He is considered one of the greatest Tamil literary figures of all time. His most famous work is the Thirukkural, a collection of 1330 couplets on a wide range of subjects, including ethics, morality, and social justice. The Thirukkural is considered one of the most important texts in Tamil literature and has been translated into many languages. Thiruvalluvar's teachings have had a profound impact on Tamil culture and society. He is revered as a saint and his teachings are still widely followed today.

Valluvar is traditionally worshiped as a god and saint by various communities across the Southern region of India. He is regarded as an Avatar of Brahma.
