Bhakti Tirtha Swami was an accomplished public speaker, beloved guide and author. He traveled globally and shared his teachings of wisdom in the Americas, Europe, the former Soviet bloc, Africa and Asia.

Bhakti Tirtha Swami also known as Honorable Krishnapada, was the guru of the International Society for Krishna Consciousness. He was the highest ranking African American in ISKCON and was also known as the honorific Krishnapada. He was the first person of African descent to become a deeksha guru in the disciplic succession of the ancient Brahma-Madhva-Gaudiya sect.

As a religious leader, Bhakti-Teertha Swami befriended celebrities and served as a spiritual advisor to high-ranking members of the United Nations and international relations, including former South African President Nelson Mandela and world leaders. And had expertise in conflict resolution. Swami published more than 17 books and was frequently interviewed in the media.
