The Lake County Hindu temple in Chicago suburb Grayslake celebrated its special Shravan Maas Hindola Mahotsav or Jhula festival on July 16, 2023 with much pomp and enthusiasm, with many devotees bringing their deities.
The program started with Bhagwan Ganesha worship and Sankalp sponsored by the temple priest. Sri Krishna Abhishekam is performed with various fruit juices and saffron milk. Special Vastram and Alankaram were offered.
Devotees with great devotion and divine joy swing Bhagwan Krishna in a swing decorated for his pleasure. Devotees bring their family deities to participate in this grand-scale Hindola festival, fulfilling the concept of Bhagwan Krishna's participation of all the devata’s in the Hindola festival.
Pandit Joshi blessed all the devotees with a happy and long life and said that the back-and-forth motion of the Bagwan's swing brings heavenly bliss and represents a journey away from the worldly concerns of the world. The swinging motion creates bliss and takes you to the world of spirituality. * Please share any of your suggestions or ideas with us.
