General elections are to be held in Britain on July 4. Earlier, Prime Minister Rishi Sunak along with his wife Akshata Murthy reached Shri Swaminarayan Temple in London. Here he sought blessings for victory and offered prayers.
Bharatvanshi PM Sunak said that I am proud to take oath as a Member of Parliament on Bhagavad Gita. Our faith teaches us to do our duty and not worry about the consequences as long as one does it honestly. My parents have brought me up on this belief and this is how I live my life. This is what I want to give my daughters. It is religion that guides me in public service.
Sunak expressed his gratitude to the Indian community for their prayers and love. There are about 10 lakh Hindus in Britain. The role of British Hindu voters is going to be important in this week's elections.
