Baba Mahakal woke up at 4 am in the morning to give darshan to the devotees on Wednesday, the first date of Bhadrapada Shukla Paksha, at Shri Mahakaleshwar Temple. After which the Bhasma Aarti of Baba Mahakal was performed with much fanfare. Before this, Baba Mahakal was decorated in the form of Shri Ganesh. Thousands of devotees visited Baba Mahakal.
First of all, along with bathing and Panchamrit Abhishek, water laced with saffron was offered to the Lord. Baba Mahakal was decorated with cannabis. The devotees kept looking at this adornment of the Lord in the form of Shri Ganesh. The Lord was adorned and made to wear a new crown, after which ashes were offered to Baba Mahakal by Mahanirvani Akhara. Devotees witnessed the divine Bhasma Aarti of Baba Mahakal from Nandi Hall and Ganesh Mandapam and benefited from the arrangements of Bhasma Aarti. During this, the devotees also chanted Jai Shri Mahakal.
Devotee Nataraj Shankarlal Dangi, who came from Pune to Shri Mahakaleshwar Temple, donated a cash amount of Rs 1 lakh 25 thousand to Shri Mahakaleshwar Temple.
