Shri Ranchodraiji Temple is located at Dakor in Kheda district, Gujarat. This temple is also known as
Dakor Temple.
This temple is dedicated to Bhagwan Ranchhodrai in the form of Bhagwan Krishna. Dakor Temple is a pilgrimage site where Bhagwan Krishna is worshiped. Devotees come to the temple to seek blessings, offer prayers and perform various religious rituals.
Architecture and History of Shri Ranchhodraiji Mandir:
Shri Ranchodraiji Temple is covered with 8 domes and 24 turrets, the central dome reaches a height of 27 meters. Decorated with a golden urn and a white silk flag, this temple is the tallest temple in the district. The main dome of the temple is influenced by the Maharashtrian style of architecture. The main hall has paintings depicting events from the life of Bhagwan Krishna.
It is believed that Ranchhodji, a name for Bhagwan Krishna meaning \"he who left the battlefield\", inspired Gopal Jagannath Ambekar, a shroff of a Peshwa’s court in Poona, with a dream to build a vast and magnificent temple. The temple was built in 1772 AD. The main Ranchhodrai idol is in black touchstone, 1 m tall and 45 cm in breadth, richly adorned with gold, jewels and expensive clothes. Its throne, an ornate masterpiece of woodcarving plated in silver and gold, was presented by the Gaekwad of Baroda.
Earlier Shree Ranchhodraiji Temple famous for Worship of shiva, it developed into a center for Vaishnavites when Ranchhodraiji, another avatar of Krishna surfaced. It is one of the most ethnically significant temples of Gujarat.
The State Government recently included Dakor in the pilgrimages under “Yatradham Vikas Board”.

Prime Festivals at Shree Ranchhodraiji Temple
At Shree Ranchhodraiji Temple the prime festivals are Holi, Amalaki Ekadashi, Janmashtami, Nand Mahotsav, Rath Yatra and Dussehra. During these festivals, devotees take the idol of Krishna in procession on an elephant. The festivals of Hindola and Palna are also celebrated.
