Shri Sheetla Mata Mandir (श्री शीतला माता मंदिर) is dedicated to Devi Kripi/Kirpai, wife of Guru Dronacharya. This temple is located on Sheetla Mata Road in Gurgaon city of Gurgaon district in the state of Haryana in India. This temple is very famous and is visited by a large number of people. Shri Sheetla Mata is the Kuldevi of Gurugram, so devotees perform mundan rituals here and married couples come to seek blessings.
History of Sheetla Mata Temple Gurgaon

Mahabharata was the guru maan of the Pandavas and Kauravas. That is why Gurgaon, now renamed as Gurugram from Guru + Gram or Guru's Village.
Kirpai, also known as Lalita and later Mata Sheetla, lived in Keshopur village in the nearby Union Territory of Delhi. Her husband Dronacharya used to visit Keshopur every day from her Gurugram ashram. She devoted herself to the care of sick children, especially those suffering from smallpox. People affectionately and respectfully called her Mata (Mother). After her death a temple was built in her honor by the villagers and she came to be remembered as Mata Sheetla or Mata Masani, i.e. the 'Devi of smallpox'. The present temple was built in the 18th century by the Hindu Jat Raja Jawahar Singh of Bharatpur to commemorate his victory over the Mughals, for which he took the blessings of Sheetla Mata.
