Devotees of
Kaila Maiya used to go to Karauli via this route of
Gwalior for the darshan of Mata,
Pahua-Pahua means that the devotees used to stay here for short rest while going on foot. While serving the mata’s exclusive devotees and wandering devotees, Maharaj Shri established this only temple. Today this temple dedicated to Kaila Maiya is famous among the public as the temple of
Pahua Wali Mata.
A two-day fair is organized in the temple on
Phagun Shukla Ekadashi. During
Navratri, both Chaitra and Shardiya, there is a (mela) fair-like atmosphere in the temple. And on the day of
Maha Navami, a huge Bhandara is organized.
Along with the temple of Mata, the Dham of
Baba Bhairavnath and
Bhagwan Shiva is also established in the temple premises. According to the devotion of the devotees, the temple committee organizes one or two Bhagwat Kathas in a year. Even today, the responsibility of the main service of the temple is mainly implemented by the founder family.
For the darshan of Kaila Maiya, the temple opens for devotees only at 6 am. After this, Maya's court remains open for the devotees from 4 pm to 9 pm, closing at 12 noon.
Even after all this, any devotee can find the guidance of Pandit ji in the temple premises at any time. The most famous Lord Shri Krishna temple of Anand Nagar,
Giriraj Dham is located about 700 meters away from Pahua Wali Mata.
