Kashi Vishwanath Mandir is located in Varanasi. This temple of Bhagwan Shiva is situated on the banks of river Ganga in Varanasi city of Uttar Pradesh. Kashi Vishwanath Temple is one of the 12 Jyotirlingas of Bhagwan Shiva. This temple is also known as Vishweshwar. The word means 'ruler of the universe'. This temple is 15.5 meters high.

Vishwanath temple construction
The present temple was built by Maharani Ahilya Bai Holkar in the year 1780. It was later built by Maharaja Ranjit Singh in 1853 with 1000 kg of pure gold.

The doors of Kashi Vishwanath Temple open at 2:30 am, the first aarti is performed at 3 am. Aarti of Bhagwan Shiva is performed here five times a day and the last aarti is performed at 10:30.
