Chennai Jagannath Temple is a Hindu temple dedicated to Bhagwan Jagannath, Prabhu Baladeva and Devi Subhadra. It located in Kannathur off the East Coast Road and it is built in Kalinga architecture reminiscent of the Jagannath Temple, Puri. The idols of deities at the shrine are made of neem wood, similar to those at the Puri shrine. Its excellent architecture is an actual replica of the original Puri Jagannath Mandir at Odisha.
Temple Construction: The temple was consecrated on 26 January 2001. The shrine is a replica of the Jagannath temple at Puri and is built in Oriya style. The temple is full of Pata Chitra paintings on the walls and ceilings, similar to Oriya temples, including the depictions of the ten incarnations of Bhagwan Vishnu.
