Galtaji Dham is an ancient Hindu pilgrimage site located to the east of Jaipur, in the town of Khaina-Balaji, on the outskirts of Jaipur, about 10 kilometers from the city. The site consists of a series of temples built into a narrow cleft in the ring of hills that surrounds Jaipur. It is believed that a saint named Galav lived here, meditated and performed penance.

The surroundings of Galtaji Dham are very beautiful and well maintained. Galtaji Temple is made of pink sandstone. The walls of the temple are beautifully decorated with paintings and carvings. The sounds of chanting mantras and religious hymns make the atmosphere more pleasant.

This temple is known for its natural springs, the water of which is stored in tanks (Kunds). There are seven ponds here, the most sacred of which is Galata Kund, which never dries up. Especially on Makar Sankranti, bathing in the waters of Galtaji is considered auspicious and every year thousands of people come to take bath.

Makar Sankranti and Kartik Purnima are the major festivals in Galtaji Dham. Galata Ji Temple sees the highest number of devotees during this festival, with thousands of devotees taking a dip in the holy ponds.
How to reach Galtaji Dham?
Galtaji Dham is located outside the city, so it is better to go by road from the city. One can also opt for a private taxi in Jaipur and reach the temple in a comfortable manner. The nearest railway station to Galta Ji Temple is Bais Godam Railway Station. The temple is located at a distance of one kilometer from the station.
