Dehotsarga Tirtha is situated on the banks of Hiran River and 1.5 km from Somnath Temple. This place became a pilgrimage site due to the last divine journey of Bhagwan Shri Krishna. The description of Shri Krishna Nijdham Prasthan Leela is found in Mahabharata, Shrimad Bhagwat, Vishnu Purana and other spiritual texts. Swami Shri Gajananand Saraswatiji suggested that Shri Krishna departed on the first day of Shukla Paksha of Chaitra month.
At Dehotsarga Tirtha the footprints of Bhagwan Krishna are installed under a papal tree to mark his memory and to express respect to the Bhagwan for the devotees. Dehotsarga Tirtha is a large beautiful and serene complex on the Hiran River where Bhagwan Krishna left his physical body.
