Around five thousand years ago, a Shivalinga was revealed in the Arabian Sea, today we knowns as Shri Bhadkeshwar Mahadev Mandir. In the month of June/July, the ocean itself perform abhishekam the Shivling, and for some time this temple becomes the part of the ocean. The most famous festival of the temple is Maha Shivratri, on the day of Shivratri, a grand fair is organized around the temple.
Abhishekam can be offered from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm, but the temple is open all the time for the devotees. Due to the narrow size of garbh-grah, it is possible to find limited devotees for Jalabhishek, so please co-operate with the temple priest. Photography and videography are prohibited in the sanctum of the temple. Worship in the temple is being carried out by priests over generations. Every evening the sight of the sunset surrounding the temple is quite divine and fabulous, which attracts devotees as well as the tourists. Read in Hindi
