After the death of Guru Har Krishna Sahib Ji, the eighth Guru of the Sikhs, Raja Jai Singh built a pond in his memory. The water of this pond is believed to have medicinal properties and most of the devotees take bath in it and also keep it in their homes. The former bungalow of Raja Jai Singh (known as Jaisinghpura Palace) was renovated into a Gurdwara, famous as Gurdwara Bangla Sahib. Nearby is the famous Hanuman Temple in Connaught Place.
