Varalakshmi Vrat Katha (वरलक्ष्मी व्रत कथा)

According to Varalakshmi Vrat Katha, there was a city named Kundi in the kingdom of Magadha at a very mythological time. According to the legends of ancient times, this city was built by the grace of heaven. This city was established in the middle of the Magadha kingdom. In this city, a Brahmin woman Charumati lived with her family. Charumati was a conscientious woman who lived the life of an ideal woman by serving her mother-in-law, father-in-law and husband and worshiping Mata Lakshmi.
One night, Devi Lakshmi, pleased with the woman, appeared to her in a dream and made her aware of the fast called Vara Lakshmi. With the effect of this fast, you will get the desired result.

The next morning, Charumati along with other women of the society duly worshiped the bride Lakshmi Vrat as prescribed by Mata Lakshmi. After the completion of the worship, all the women started circumambulating the Kalash, while doing the circumambulation, the bodies of all the women were decorated with various gold ornaments.

Their houses were also made of gold and animals like horses, elephants, cows etc. also came to their place. All the women started praising Charumati. Because it was Charumati who had told them all about this fasting method.

Later this story was narrated by Bhagwan Shiva to Mata Parvati. By listening to this fast, one gets the blessings of Mata Lakshmi ji.
