Apart from Dwadash Jyotirlinga, there are many such Hiranyagarbha Shivlingas, which are very amazing. Many of them are about to accomplish great miracles and desires and are enshrined in Siddhpeeths.

One such Siddhpeeth is established in the very holy courtyard of Shri Dudheshwar Nath Mahadev Math Temple. Swayambhu Hiranyagarbha Dudheshwar Shivling.

हिरण्यगर्भः समवर्तताग्रेभूतस्य जात: पतिरेक आसीत्

In the Puranas, there is a description of Hiranyagarbha Jyotirlinga near Harnandi. Harandi is the daughter of Harnad or Hiranyada Brahma and later on her name Hindon became famous. Hindon Puran is a famous river originating from some distance from Saharanpur from the mountain ranges of Shivalik. It has formed a Hindon consisting of three small streams. There is a belief that the philosophy of Hindon, in this, the sins and temperatures of many births are automatically eliminated by bathing and worshiping.

The atmosphere here was sanctified by the chanting of ascetics absorbed in penance on the sacred banks of Hindon. At the same time, this area was also trembling due to the prakop of the demonic(Rakshas) nature like Marich, Subah and Tadka living in the inaccessible forest landscape of this region.

There is a village called Bisarkh near Ghaziabad. Earlier there was a dense forest here. Ravan's father Viswesrava did penance here. He was an ardent devotee of Shiv ji.

Now Ravan's ancestral village in Gautam Buddha Nagar district is still revered in Bisarkh. In this village neither Ramlila is staged nor Dussehra festival is celebrated. The name of this village was Viswesrava after the name of sage Visvesvarava, later it came to be called Bisarkha.

In Tretayug, Kubera's father Maharishi Pulastya resided in Bisarkha area before Sri Ramavatar. Maharishi Pulastya was married to Maharishi Bharadwaj's sister. Kuber was the son of this lucky couple.

Kuber was the grandson of Brahma and an exclusive friend of Bhagwan Shiv and treasurer of Devlok. Due to his engagements, Kuber did not have enough time to give his father even a little time. Due to this, Maharishi Pulastya used to be frustrated because he could not meet his son. Kuber too had the trouble of not serving his father, but due to timeliness, he had no solution to this problem.

Maharishi Pulastya was a learned scholar. He thought for a day: If I am pleased with the great friend of son Kuber, Odhardani, Bhagwan Shiva and keep him with him, then the problem will be solved automatically. If Kuber comes to meet his best friend Shivji, then I will also meet him. Just two moments my son Kuber will sit near me. Father and son will talk about sorrow and happiness.

This is the best solution: thinking about this, Maharishi Pulastya decided to do austerity to please Bhagwan Shiv. The crowds and movements of Bisarkh caused disturbance in austerity, so Maharishi Pulastya chose the dense forest near Hindon for his penance.

He continuously worshiped Bhagwan Bhole Nath for years. His austerity released without hindrance showed its color. The accomplishment of Maharishi Pulastya reached here that he himself became the form of Bhagwan Shankar.

Pleased with the worship of Maharishi Pulastya, Bhagwan Bholenath appeared with mother Parvati. Bhagwan Shiva said to Maharishi Pulastya: I am very happy with your worship. I live in Kashi and Kailash. You want me to live here Kashi rests on my trident, I do not have another trident, therefore Kashi cannot be built here. Yes, Kailash can definitely be made here if you want.

Maharishi Pulastya said: Bhagwan! You should give permission to make Kailash here and dwell in it: I certainly have a selfish interest in it but the spirit of public welfare is also contained in it. With your blessings, the welfare of the people will continue forever.

The place where Maharshi Pulastya performed intense penance and was called as Vishweshrava in the form of Shiva Swaroop: The place where Bhagwan Shiv appeared to Visvesvarava with Mata Parvati and commanded him to make Kailash, the place where Bhagwan Bholenath Hiranyagarbha Jyotirling as his identity. Left, the same place is today known as Sri Dudheshwar Nath Mahadev Math Temple.

This is purest Jyotirling, whose philosophy fulfills the wishes of the devotees. This is the mangalkari doodhniyanta Bhagwan bholenath’s doodheshwar ling whereby doing abhishek devotees get lots of blessings.

Ravan, son of Shiv seeker Vishweshrava, was also an exclusive devotee of Bhagwan Shiva like his ascetic father. Ravan's devotion to Shiv ji is well known and exemplary. Hiranyagarbha Jyotirlinga Shri Dudheshwar's Ravan also practiced for years in Kailash, developed from his father's power. Ravan was anointing Shri Dudheshwar here till Maharishi Vishveshrava's family had settled in the golden city of Lanka.

The same Puranic Hiranyagarbha Jyotirlinga is known and worshiped as Shri Dudheshwar Nath Mahadev.
